We miss Kilifi…

we miss the ocean...



the baobab trees that remind us that we are less than a blink of the eye of history...



swerving around goats in the road...





the call to prayer at sunset...


women wearing brightly
patterned khangas,

full moon rises,

gentle giant millipedes...

geckos...


masai dudes around town..


the sound of the tide coming in and out...


the stars...


We miss swimming the creek and running through the villages...

we even miss the snakes which lend to the atmosphere of life-affirming danger.
