Happy Birthday, Nick! This one is for you...
Three weeks ago we went to Kampala, Uganda. We saw a guy on the side of the street carrying a little basket full of nail polish. We thought he was selling it for sniffing. Later that day, we saw a couple more guys with assorted nail polish, clippers, files etc… walking around. These were street guys – scruffy, dirty and tough-looking – geared up like third-world Avon ladies... Finally, we saw a Ugandan-lady perched on the edge of a wall, taking a quick timeout from her walk home from work, having her toes primped by one of these unlikely entrepreneurs…
